Linux
macOS
General Information
- Issues may occur after a NetID password reset when the local Mac account has not yet synced with the new password.
- This guide provides two stages of fixes. Start with Stage 1 Fix before proceeding to Stage 2 Fix if the issue persists.
- Escalate to the Mac Sys Admin if the issues persist.
Simple Troubleshooting
- Connect the Mac to Ethernet
- At the login screen, have the user try both:
- Their old password
- Their new password
- Ensure they attempt login using NetID credentials only.
- It will not require @tamu.edu
- If they are still unable to log in, proceed to Advanced Troubleshooting
Advanced Troubleshooting

- Elevate your account to admin using the Privileges tool in the Gig 'Em (Support Hub)

- Go to System Settings --> Users & Groups

- Under Password, select Reset
- Enter the user's new NetID password as the password, then retype it in Verify

- Log out of your account
- Have the user sign in locally with the NetID and new password
- After login, click the A&M logo in the top right menu bar
- Select Connect to sync their account
