Asset Disposal (Wipe/Surplus)
Receiving Procedure (30 day hold)
- When a device comes in we create a ticket and apply a 30 day hold on the ticket.
- Print the ticket detail and tape to the device
- Put the device on the shelf labeled 30 DAY HOLD
important
We apply a 30 day hold to give users a chance to let us know and data needs to be recovered, DO NOT reimage or surplus before this has happened.
Once that 30 day hold has completed, we will either reimage the device and put back in stock or proceed to surplus. Use the criteria below to make this determination:
- Item is capable of running latest OS's (generally 7 years or newer)
AND - Item is in good shape (no visible damage)
tip
Use the asset tag to determine the model year (the 3rd and 4th numbers represent the year it was added to inventory),
If the device meets BOTH of these proceed to redeployment, otherwise device will be submitted for surplus.
