This product was recently acquired by TeamDynamix. PVFA worked with Sassafras to setup user access leveraging TAMU’s EntraID authentication but otherwise is fully managed by Sassafras. It is an IT Asset Management solution; it has the following uses:

Prerequisites
- Admin (sudo/root) access
- Internet access to:
tamu.sassafrascloud.com
1. Download installer
Ubuntu:
cd /tmp
curl -O https://download.sassafras.com/software/release/current/Installers/Linux/Client/KeyAccess_8.1.0.4-202603_amd64.deb
RHEL:
cd /tmp
curl -O https://download.sassafras.com/software/release/current/Installers/Linux/Client/KeyAccess_8.1.0.4-202603.x86_64.rpm
2. Install package
Ubuntu:
sudo dpkg -i KeyAccess_*.deb
sudo apt-get install -f -y
RHEL:
sudo dnf install -y ./KeyAccess_*.rpm
3. Configure KeyServer
Ubuntu:
sudo vi /usr/share/ka/ka.xml
RHEL:
sudo vi /usr/share/ka/ka.xml
4. Start/Restart Client
Ubuntu:
sudo systemctl restart keyaccess
RHEL:
sudo vi /usr/share/ka/ka.xml```
If service is unavailable:
sudo killall karl
sudo /usr/libexec/karl -d -i /var/run/keyaccess.pidd &
5. Verify client is running
Ubuntu:
ps aux | grep karl
RHEL:
ps aux | grep karl
6. Force check-in
Ubuntu:
/usr/bin/keyverify
RHEL:
sudo /usr/bin/keyverify
7. Confirm in console
